Robert (Bobby) Barrera is a criminal defense lawyer with over twenty years of experience in handling all types of felony and misdemeanor criminal cases. With a reputation as a trial lawyer, Bobby has won acquittals in cases ranging from Capital Murder to Driving While Intoxicated. He comes from a family of lawyers and practices with his father Roy Sr. and his brother, Roy Jr. As a solo practitioner, Bobby offices at NICHOLAS & BARRERA, P.C., the oldest unchanged legal partnership in Bexar County history. The association and its founders are listed in numerous publications and books including The Super Lawyers Texas Monthly, and The Best Lawyers in America. Bobby’s father, Roy R. Barrera, Sr. has in excess of fifty years of practice as a criminal trial lawyer. He has been instrumental in developing Bobby’s passion and skill in the courtroom in the zealous defense of those accused of criminal acts, Bobby spent many years trying cases with his father and now manages his own law practice.
Bobby Barrera is continuing this family tradition of commitment to the Constitutional guarantee that all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. He handles criminal cases in both State and Federal courts in San Antonio. He is admitted to practice in the Western and Southern Districts of Texas and in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit. As a result of his hard work and courtroom demeanor, he is rated in the Martindale-Hubbell Legal Directory as an “AV” attorney by his fellow attorneys in Bexar County and South Texas. This is a nationally recognized rating wherein attorneys are graded by other attorneys who “take into consideration the standard of ability for the areas where the lawyer practices, the attorney’s expertise, nature of practice and qualifications relevant to the profession as well as the attorney’s ethical practices.” This Martindale-Hubbell Legal Directory rating means that Bobby “has reached the height of professional excellence and is recognized for the highest levels of skill and integrity.” This is the highest rating in the Directory that a lawyer can receive. This is a rating that Bobby proudly shares with his father. What more can you ask for in a lawyer when you or a family member are accused of crime?
